Best Spots in the Bay
There are so many great places to choose from in the Bay! The trouble is picking one! But heres a few of our favs.
EAT I If you are after a caffeine hit, head over to Georgia on Tennyson they have you covered, or if you are Hastings side Yabon and next door Cupple is a real delight ( you can also watch pastry chefs at work, pretty rad. ) Bonus is, they're just down the road from our Hastings Flagship store!
For a healthy kick start you can go now further than the amazing Hapi, raw, vegan, local, modern and traditional food. Alternatively the pulled pork breakfast at F.G.Smiths it out of this world good. Little Blackbird has the a fantastic menu, and Hygge at Cliffton is a homely, fantastic spot to spend the day. Most weekends you’ll find us at Brave Brewing Co washing down with our great mates beer, and eating some fresh eats. Or at Vinci's grabbing a good slice. Sazio on Heretaunga is the your friendly local bistro serving fresh pasta daily, Pipis is iconic, and utterly delicious ( shout out to wiltered greens ) Peak House is perfect spot to lay your head with their boutique accommodation, and to quench your thirst after hiking our iconic giant, Asian Diner has the best banter and karagae chicken around, Mary's in Havelock North makes a mean negroni served with a side of cheeseburger or oysters, and an absolute BG fav is our friend Cliff at The Dosa Project who has opened Collab, nutritious soul food, and the best scrambled eggs you'll ever eat ( you'll also find hime most Sundays slingin' Dosa at the Hawkes Bay Famers Market )
And of course you must hit up a winery or two. Rod McDonald / Te Awanga Estate does the most delicious Rosé and Pinot Gris, but lets face it, its all damn good. Bring along a rug and sit out under the trees by the vines with one of their Hawkes Bay famous platters. Our other top favourites are Blackbarn for relaxed fine dining, Clearview Estate for a seaside tipple, and you cant go past Craggy Range for that view of the grand old Peak.
VISIT | Walk a trail at Te Mata Peak, Haumoana Beach, Art Gallery in Hastings
Hastings Farmers Market ( Sundays )
SHOP | Coco & Co is your one stop shop local handmade, and SoVintage next door to our Heretaunga Store is a plethora of French & European goods. Real World dispensary is a must see, even if it's only for a sample, a smell and the great fit out Ossian Street Markets are held the last Sunday of every month, home to fantastic vintage and hand picked goodies, And of course, make sure you pop in and see us at Blackbird Goods at 25 Dalton Street in Napier or 206 Heretaunga St East in Hastings.
Most of all, enjoy this beautiful place we live!
