What we put on our skin is ultimately absorbed into our body - which is why we make our Mānuka Honey Day Cream with the most natural and simple restorative ingredients. In fact, our face cream is so natural its contents are actually safe to eat (although we wouldn’t recommend it). Honey holds a really high moisture content which is why it makes for a a great ingredient in a day moisturiser because it leaves your skin feeling hydrated for longer. We are also big believers in the native flora of this country, which is why the anti-inflammatory kawakawa leaf and the anti-bacterial and super active mānuka honey are significant tenants in our face cream which leaves your skin super clean blemish free and feeling fresh.
Aotea was founded in 2017. We are inspired by mātauranga māori (māori knowledge) and this knowledge manifests itself in our range of therapeutic skincare. Aotea is the māori name for Great Barrier Island and it is here where we are from and where we grow the native flora we use (and extract their oils) and spin these into the products in our range. This is all done by our team on our papakāinga (land).
