" When I look at everything I do it has a painterly element, across styling, the way I like to see photos printed, the way colour is attended to, the kinds of photos I like to take, the way I set up a sculptural work. I want to treat these images like paintings. Like the kind of brush strokes that can't be repeated. Always open to the moment and the changes it brings. The Block Shrines arrangements are very ephemeral, I don't use hidden things to hold pieces together, it is done with balance and will often fall apart right after the photo is taken, if not before. "
